High quality Sencha from Kyoto Prefecture is mixed with roasted and popped brown rice to produce our Genmaicha. Unlike many blends of Genmaicha on the market which use Bancha (second harvest) tea as the main ingredient. 

Genmaicha originated as a peasants drink, where rice was originally added to make the tea go further.  However it is now popular in its own right.  The addition of the rice produces a wonderful balance of toasty flavours blended with the fresh bright green tea. Naturally low in caffeine, it is an ideal tea to drink in the evenings, and goes well with food.

Measure 1 heaped tsp per cup (250ml), add 80° water, infuse for 30-60 seconds.

2-3 Infusions.

wonderful tea

I was looking for this tea for a long time ( green tea whit roasted rice ) I must say, it's one of the best I've had. Amazing taste and smell... Thank you Bohea Teas

Something a little different for green tea fans!

This smells almost unnervingly of Sugar Puffs, thanks to the toasted rice, which is a fantastic bit of nostalgia to begin with. As the description suggests, this is perfect to drink with food, as its subtle flavour is quite happy to sit alongside whatever flavours you've packed onto your dinner plate.

Perfect for a green tea lover!

The tea smells almost unnervingly like Sugar Puffs, thanks to the roasted rice, which is a nice dose of nostalgia to begin with! Very drinkable and comforting without being too overwhelming, As the description suggests, it's great to have with food, sitting alongside big flavours perfectly. Love!
